Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the desire of Warsaw to actively participate in the post-war restoration of Ukraine not only for humanitarian or political reasons, but also for the sake of economic benefits. He made a statement during a press conference in Slavku, where one of the largest Polish container terminals is located.
“There is nothing wrong with honestly saying that we want to make big money to restore Ukraine. We want to help, but we also want to make money. That is why we need this hub, this dry port, ”Tusk emphasized.
According to him, Poland plans a large -scale expansion of the terminal in Slavkow, implemented in five stages. The total budget of the project is estimated at one billion euros. After modernization, the logistics object should become the largest land hub in Europe.
The terminal in Slavkuv is already playing a key role in the transportation of goods between Western Europe and Ukraine. Expanding its capabilities will allow Poland to become the main logistics partner of Kyiv on infrastructure reconstruction, as well as the redistribution of international assistance.
