Poland will not transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine: statement of the Deputy Prime Minister

Poland does not plan to transfer its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine due to the strategic need to use them to ensure the security of its own airspace.

Polish Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosyniak-Kamysh made such a statement on Radio Zet.

"MIG-29 - they patrol Polish skies and serve Polish pilots. I cannot say that I agree with the transfer of aircraft. I do not agree with this," said the minister.

Kosyniak-Kamysh also responded to Zelenskyi's claims regarding aid to Ukraine.

"Of course, it would be easier for him if other countries took part in this war, but Poland is not a party to the conflict," the vice-prime minister emphasized.

He reminded that Poland provides the largest humanitarian and military aid.

"I am sad that this is often forgotten," said Kosyniak-Kamysh.
