Poland has no intention of sending its peacekeepers to Ukraine, as this could be used by Russia to promote the narrative of Warsaw's alleged desire to occupy the western territories of Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Polish Bureau of National Security, Jacek Sewiera, in an interview with Polskie Radio.
"These are both historical questions and a narrative and cognitive war waged by the Russian Federation, claiming that Poland is ready and interested in occupying western Ukraine. This version has been present for many years and very intensively since the beginning of the invasion, and it will be used quickly if the army is used,” Severa stated.
At the same time, in general, he considers the idea of sending European peacekeepers possible.
"Additional work is needed to develop a more unified position among European countries. A change of administration in the US also leads to this approach, a change in perception of how to end the conflict. If any form of presence of international forces on the territory of Ukraine is considered, they must have an appropriate international mandate, but it must be clearly stated that this is a limited form of participation of only Western allies," said the head of the BNB.
