Polish police detained a man who kept Ukrainian in an abandoned building

In the city of Helen-Gura, who in Lower Silesia, law enforcement officers detained a 40-year-old man without a permanent place of residence, who is suspected of beating and illegal maintenance of the Ukrainian citizen for nine days. This was reported by the Municipal Police Department, the incident happened on June 19.

A confused woman with numerous beatings turned to the gate of the police detention center. A 51-year-old Ukrainian said she had spent the last days in an abandoned building, where an unknown man kept her forces, beat and threatened murder. The victim complained of severe head and chest, she was immediately provided with medical care and called patrolmen.

The victim showed a photo of the offender to law enforcement officers. It turned out that police had already dealt with this man in the past. While searching, police found a suspect near one of the buildings. Seeing law enforcement officers, he tried to escape, but he was quickly detained.

After the arrest, the man was placed in a temporary detention center. In the near future, he will be taken to the district prosecutor's office of the city of Yelen-Gura, where he will be exposed to suspicion and submit a request for detention.

Under Polish legislation, unlawful imprisonment with the use of physical violence is punishable by imprisonment for up to 25 years. The case is investigated by the prosecutor's office and local police.
