In Poland, large-scale farmers' protests began in the morning, reports Onet.
They have already blocked entrances to major cities, including Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznań and Bydgoszcz.
Across the country, farmers announced protests of 70,000 people in 580 places.
The representative of the trade union stated that the farmers oppose the "green course" of the European Union, the import of products from Ukraine, restrictions on livestock production in Poland and the "dramatic situation" in agriculture.
Earlier it became known that the EU will extend benefits for Ukrainian farmers for another year, but with the right of "emergency braking", in particular, regarding the export of grain.
The Polish Ministry of Agriculture will ask the government to suspend the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products, the import of which was previously prohibited.
This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Michal Kolodziejczak, after signing the agreement with protesting farmers, reports Onet.
"This is not only justified to protect our market, but also has the effect that when funds are directed to help Polish farmers, they will go to Polish farmers 100%. This is the most important thing," said Kolodziejczak.
Warsaw also promises farmers to seek changes to the "green course" of the European Union.
Polish farmers blocked the movement of buses through the checkpoint "Medyka - Shegyny", reports the State Border Service.
They plan to run one bus for two hours in both directions. The terms of the blockade are unknown.
