In Poltava, the court overturned the acquittal for the former senior operational commissioner of the State Tax Service in Poltava region, which was accused of forgery of official documents during official activity. It is about the taxman Alexei B., who in 2017 introduced false information to six protocols of inspection of the removed excisable products.
As the investigation established, B. noted in the protocols the data on the presence of witnesses who were not actually participating in the review. He submitted these documents to the investigator for attachment to criminal proceedings.
At first, the Kyiv District Court of Poltava justified the taxman, referring to the allegedly unproven prosecution. However, the prosecutor's office appealed, and the court of second instance revised the case. As a result, the Poltava Court of Appeal found the man guilty of committing official forgery.
However, it was not possible to hold him accountable - the limitation period of criminal liability has passed. The court released the accused from punishment, but obliged him to compensate for almost 14 thousand hryvnias of the expenses for the trial.
