Adnan Kivan was born on November 30, 1962 and became a multimillionaire of Arab-Syrian origin. In 1986, he organized a company that mediated negotiations between the USSR and its Arab debtors, earning a significant amount by 1990.
In 2005, he founded the company Diana-Plus, and later Interinvestbud and Kadorr Group, which became one of the largest players in the real estate market in Ukraine. According to Forbes, in 2021 his fortune was $240 million.
Kivan was also the owner of the agricultural company "Kador Zerno Ukrainy", the company "Zerno Agro", the Kyiv Post publication, and Odessa's Channel 7. His contributions to culture include the construction of the Arab Cultural Center of Odessa and the Eastern Cultural Center.
However, Kivan was also remembered for the scandal with the Kyiv Post, which temporarily suspended its work in November 2021. Journalists at the publication expressed concern about Kivan's intentions to influence the independence of the media.
