The sequel to the cult game Stalker has become one of the most anticipated events in the gaming world over the past 15 years. Despite the technical problems, the audience received Stalker 2 quite warmly, which was a pleasant surprise for the development team.
According to Evgeny Hryhorovych, the creator of the series, the GSC Game World studio had concerns about the reception of the game:
"We understood that the game was not perfect, and we would like to improve it. Lower grades were expected. However, the audience supported us, and this is a huge motivation."
At the time of release, Stalker 2 still contains a number of technical flaws. Hryhorovych admitted that bugs that the players don't even know about add stress to the team:
"We still don't know what error users will encounter next. This makes it difficult to determine priorities."
Despite this, the game has 84% positive reviews on Steam. For many developers, this would be a great success, but Hryhorovych sets more ambitious goals for himself:
"We want at least 90% of players to like the game. Not 89%, because it is an "eight". And we want 'nine'".
The development of Stalker 2 lasted six years, and for Hryhorovych, this project is more than a game - it is the result of many years of work and the desire to present players with a really high-quality product.
"As creative people, we want to achieve the maximum result. It's not just numbers, it's our reputation, our pride."
Despite the difficulty, the team continues to work on updates to improve the game and meet the expectations of the audience.
The success of Stalker 2 proves that players are willing to support projects even with flaws, if they see the dedication and desire of the developers to improve. Evgeny Hryhorovych's ambitions are inspiring, and it seems that he is not going to stop until the dream of "90%" becomes a reality.
