After a serious injury near Vovchansk, Ukrainian military Alexander survived several critical conditions, sepsis and repeated alrosive bleeding. Due to the complex surgery and persistence of doctors, the man survived and gradually recovers.
About it reports the National Scientific Center of Surgery and Transplantology named after O.O. Shallimova.
Oleksandr is a current military who voluntarily went to the front in 2015, and after a full -scale invasion, he again became one of the assault units. Last year, he suffered a serious mine-explosive. One of the debris has punched the chest, damaging the right lung and a brachiocephalic trunk - the main artery that nourishes the brain and the right hand.
The first intervention was performed by Kharkiv surgeons - they stopped bleeding and installed an artificial vessel. But soon the condition has deteriorated significantly: the infection in the graph, the formation of fistula, thrombosis and sepsis.
Alexander was first transferred to the National Military Medical Center, and later-to the center of Shalimov, where he was conducted a difficult operation to remove the infected graft. Doctors were able to stabilize the blood supply to the brain and hands without need for a new reconstruction of the vessels.
The patient remained in serious condition for a long time: had a polyresistant infection, prolonged inflammation and the threat of lethal bleeding. But thanks to the efforts of the team of the Center Shalimov, intensive therapy and constant monitoring, the condition of Alexander gradually stabilized.
The temperature normalized, the tests confirmed the absence of infection in the blood. Doctors emphasize that infection of vascular graphs is one of the most dangerous complications in vascular surgery, which requires the highest level of medical care.
In the center of Shalimov, they assure that they are ready to save such patients using the latest techniques and technologies.
