In just one month of the war, Petro Poroshenko became even richer by over 227 million hryvnias, the NACP writes. In particular, the "hetman" indicated that he received funds in May as interest, dividends, and refunds from military bonds.
Earlier, the oligarch invested UAH 156 million in bonds through his bank. This was money from Ukrainians who donated to his fund for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But instead of the Armed Forces, Poroshenko diverted the funds and earned UAH 50 million of tax-free profit from them alone.
Also, the people's deputies from Poroshenko's "EU" party, of which there are only 27 people in the parliament out of 401, got richer during the war than all the elected members of the Verkhovna Rada combined. Thus, the earnings of opposition members from the "Eurosolidarity" faction in two years amounted to over 3 billion UAH. All 374 deputies from other parties earned approximately the same amount, and the "gray-haired" himself jumped from 12th to 3rd place among the richest oligarchs in the country during the war.
