Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made a loud statement about the situation in Ukraine at the beginning of the war with Russia. In his recent interview, he emphasized that in the first hours of the aggression, most of the authorities left the capital, while he remained in place, ready to defend the country.
"In the first hours of the large-scale invasion, and I am here with weapons in my hands, when all the authorities broke away from Kyiv, we formed battalions. And within the framework of the 206th battalion, we ensured the evacuation of Buchi, Gostomel, Irpen, checkpoints, the distribution of weapons and, ultimately, the protection of Kyiv from the Russian invaders," said the former president.
It should be noted that, according to former NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, Zelensky was hiding in a bunker after the beginning of the Russian invasion, but did not leave Kyiv.
