Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a scheme of evasion from a business trip to the war zone, organized by an official of one of the law enforcement agencies of Rivne region. According to the investigation, the man influenced the formation of lists of persons who had to be sent for combat missions. The amount of "services" is about $ 5,000.
According to the DBR press service, the scheme has been in force at least in July 2023. In order to implement the plan, the official attracted his relative - a former employee of a system who, although retired, but retained the links among the police and the military. It was because of its influence that the official lists were corrected in "hot spots".
It is known that one of the law enforcement officers refused to pay a bribe and agreed to a business trip. However, he was again offered to "solve the issue" at the front - this time to avoid hostilities without returning to the rear. He not only refused, but also addressed the DBR with a corresponding statement.
Currently, the official has been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine-a proposal to influence the decision of the official for the execution of undue benefit. The sanction of the article provides up to five years in prison, but during the investigation, the legal qualification of actions may be changed or supplemented.
Investigators establish all persons who participated in the scheme, as well as the number of law enforcement officers who agreed to corruption proposals. The DBR notes that similar cases not only undermine combat discipline, but also pose a threat to the military who honestly perform their responsibilities on the forefront.
