According to our source in the Office of the President, deliveries of F-16 fighters are again delayed, and now the first aircraft are expected to arrive in the fall. It is worth noting that all our partners who promised to provide us with the first aircraft by the end of 2023 have not fulfilled their promises. The government on Bankova Street expresses dissatisfaction with the approach of our partners, who publicly declare support, but in fact delay the process of delivering even the promised weapons.
According to Berlingske, the delivery of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark to Ukraine is delayed by six months. Instead of receiving the first six aircraft by the end of 2024, they are expected to be delivered only in the second quarter, the Ministry of Defense reported.
It is noted that the delivery schedule has always depended on a number of conditions, including the successful training of Ukrainian pilots, as well as the availability of the necessary logistics and infrastructure to service the F-16 in Ukraine. However, the ministry did not provide more detailed information on this.
According to Berlingske, six Ukrainian pilots are currently undergoing training on F-16 fighter jets in Denmark. In August, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen promised to send 19 F-16 aircraft to Kyiv.
It was previously reported that Norway has completed the transfer of two F-16 fighter jets to Denmark for training Ukrainian pilots. Norway also confirmed the dispatch of 10 instructors to Denmark to train Ukrainian pilots.
This week, Norway also announced the dispatch of two F-16 fighter jets to Denmark to train Ukrainian pilots and confirmed its intention to send two two-seat F-16 fighter jets and about fifty people to Denmark to train Ukrainian pilots.
Ukrainian pilots are undergoing or plan to undergo training in the United States, Romania, Denmark, France, and the United Kingdom. In the latter country, six Ukrainian pilots completed basic training, including English language learning, before Christmas.
