Ukrainian rapper and producer Potap has once again found himself at the center of a wave of criticism. Despite the complex surgery the artist recently underwent, his inner circle and some Ukrainian listeners continue to accuse him of scandalous decisions and ambiguous actions.
After the surgery, Potap published a photo from his hospital bed, showing fresh scars. In his post, the musician said that the operation was difficult, but he is already preparing to return to the stage. According to him, the flight is scheduled for the day after the publication, and the concert is scheduled for another day. The artist urged fans to take care of their own health and hinted at the problems he experienced in hospitals over the past year.
Despite his health problems, the audience's reaction was mostly critical. Viewers noticed that immediately after the publication of the operation, Potap began to actively announce a series of concerts abroad - in Kazakhstan, Germany, Israel - with a Russian-language repertoire. The artist himself explained that these were the songs "on which we grew up, and I rose", and emphasized that he would be able to perform only in a special medical corset, since the stitches had not yet healed.
Additional outrage was caused by Potap's appeal to fans in Russian, in which he wished to "stay on the wave of love and goodness," noting that he had not communicated with the audience in this language for a long time. Some users viewed this move as an unfortunate gesture against the backdrop of sensitive linguistic and cultural issues in Ukraine during the war.
