A special commission has been established in the Air Force of Ukraine, which checks cases of transfer of servicemen from scarce specialties to other branches of the Armed Forces. As reported in the Telegram channel of the Air Force Command, the goal of this initiative is to prevent a decrease in the personnel potential of key specialists needed to perform strategic tasks.
Military personnel working with technological aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems, radio engineering systems, as well as specialists in electronic warfare and mobile fire groups are under special attention. It is also emphasized that fighters who were trained abroad to work with Western weapons should not be transferred to infantry units.
"The commission is working to identify possible violations and will make a decision to eliminate them if such cases are detected," the Air Force Command said in a statement.
The situation gained publicity after the military announced that they were being transferred to infantry units, even if they were specialists in the aviation engineering service or worked with modern equipment.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces assured that such transfers concern only certain categories of military personnel and do not affect specialties in acute shortage. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, also emphasized the importance of maintaining the number of specialists in the Air Force, instructing the command to prevent similar cases.
The effectiveness of the Air Force depends on an integrated approach, where not only combat units, but also engineers, technicians and other specialists play a key role. In the conditions of the war with Russia, such specialists are extremely important for the maintenance of modern aviation equipment, in particular of the Western type.
At the same time, part of the Air Force is actively strengthening other units of the Armed Forces on the front line. However, the command insists that without the strategic preservation of key personnel, it is impossible to ensure the effective operation of the air force.
