The Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security took the initiative to reduce the powers of the Temporary Commissions for control over the activities of medical institutions after the invasion of Odessa. The deputy head of the committee, Yehor Chernev, told about it during the telethon, stressing the need to prevent similar incidents in the future.
"The situation with the clash between the employees of the Temporary Commission and the doctors is a very unpleasant event that outrages the whole country," Chernev emphasized.
The politician also noted that the committee is currently considering possible options to prevent similar incidents in the future.
"One of the options is to transfer part of the powers of the Temporary Commissions to control the activities of medical institutions to other authorities, for example, to remove them from the Armed Forces or the Ministry of Defense. However, this is only one of the possible ways," he emphasized.
Chernev emphasized that measures will be taken in the near future.
The incident happened at approximately 11:00 am. The ambulance driver, who was on the day off, came to the Temporary Control Commission (TCC) to update his details as required by law. However, he was refused to leave the Military Commissariat. This caused stress in the driver, the pressure rose and he became ill. He called an ambulance with a doctor and a paramedic, but they were also detained and did not want to be released.
It is noted that they wanted to forcibly send them to the VLK, and since the medics do not have armor, it is quite possible to mobilize them. Against this background, doctors and employees of the TCC started a fight, which the whole country saw.
