The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine announced that the TV channels participating in the Yedyni Novyny telethon are protected from mobilization. Among them are "My-Ukraine", "1+1", ICTV, "Inter", "Rada" and "Social News", which have the appropriate status according to the orders of the Ministry of Culture.
Other media organizations also received this status, such as the BBC, Ukrinform, Novy Kanal, Starline Media, STB, Khmarochos Media, UNIAN TV, Deutsche Welle, TET, NBM, National Union journalists of Ukraine and others.
It was previously reported that booking was not available for cultural figures who are not employees of strategic enterprises. However, 50% of conscripts are reserved for each such institution.
In addition, Ukrainian TV channels received financial support for the telethon. The total cost of the contract with "Kinokit" amounted to 104.9 million hryvnias, and the state-owned enterprise "Multimedia Platform for Foreign Language of Ukraine" allocated 146.72 million hryvnias for the creation of informational programs and materials.
The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, expressed the opinion that if the telethon does not restore the trust of viewers and does not receive financial support, it is worth considering ending it. This also applies to issues of international financial aid and reducing its volumes.
