At today's press conference, Denys Shmyhal said that the interest of investors in Ukrainian enterprises is very great, and the government continues to establish communication with partners for further investments in the country.
Large-scale privatization in Ukraine should be resumed in 2024. The state has already decided on the objects that can get new owners. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at the annual press conference on Monday, March 4.
"We invite investors, in particular, Western partners to look at the objects. The interest is very great. And today, if we do not see a rapid entry, then we understand that we are really doing a great job in communication, in communicating with our partners from the point of view of the entry of investors into Ukraine," said the head of government.
Among the objects that the government of Ukraine plans to sell in 2024, there are various enterprises from various sectors of the economy. Among them, the following can be distinguished:
- Energy facilities : The government is considering the possibility of privatizing some energy enterprises, in particular power plants and distribution companies, which will contribute to the modernization of the energy sector and increase its competitiveness.
- Engineering plants : The government plans to sell some engineering plants that specialize in the production of vehicles, agricultural machinery and other machinery and equipment.
- Chemical and oil refining industry : The list of objects of privatization also includes enterprises engaged in the chemical and oil refining industry, which may interest investors from these industries.
- Tourist and hotel complexes : The government is considering the possibility of selling some tourist and hotel complexes, which will contribute to the development of tourist infrastructure and the attraction of foreign tourists.
"These are the directions that today are important, interesting for investors, interesting for us as a country, in order to raise the economy," the Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized.
At the same time, small privatization in Ukraine, according to Shmyhal, already "gives quite a significant result" not only for the state, but also for small and medium-sized businesses.
"Among the projects for foreign investors, the most important and most promising is the extraction of critical raw materials: 22 types out of 30 types of critical raw materials are available in Ukraine today.
