President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the appointment of Vasyl Bodnar as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland. The corresponding document No. 739/2024, published on the website of the Office of the President on October 25, 2024, officially confirms Bodnar's appointment to this key diplomatic position.
Before that, Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Bodnar from the post of ambassador to Turkey, which he had held since 2021. The appointment to Poland was another stage in the diplomatic career of Bodnar, who has significant experience in the field of international relations.
Bodnar began his career in the late 1990s as the Third Secretary of the Balkans Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. From 2000 to 2004, he worked at the Embassy of Ukraine in Russia, where he held the positions of Third and Second Secretary. He also served for four years as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul (2015-2017), and Representative of Ukraine to the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
