The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed Law No. 4197-IX, which amends the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service". The document envisages updating the procedure for taking Ukrainian citizens into the military register of conscripts and conducting their medical examination during basic general military training.
This is reported by the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the law, every year from January 1 to July 31, young men who turn 17 years old are registered as conscripts with information entered in the Unified State Register of conscripts, conscripts and reservists:
- with the help of an electronic cabinet;
- personal arrival at the TCC and SP.
Also, before taking practical classes of basic combined military training, citizens undergo a medical examination.
In addition, the law extends until March 1 the possibility of registering servicemen who committed crimes against humanity and who voluntarily joined military units. For such persons, the commander extends military service and the validity of the contract no later than 72 hours, as well as renews the payment of money and the implementation of food, material, and other types of support.
But women who are fit for military service and who have expressed a desire to undergo basic military service are voluntarily registered for military service.
In the spring of last year, all conscripts and conscripts in Ukraine were required to update their data. Earlier we wrote about the fact that, in certain cases, conscripts can be declared wanted by the TCC.
Also earlier, the Rada supported the draft law in the first reading, which proposes to reduce the fine for violating the rules of military accounting in a special period from 17,000 hryvnias to 8,500 hryvnias.
