President Zelensky signed a decree on sanctions against traitors

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to introduce sanctions against persons suspected of treason. He signed the corresponding decree on Sunday, which he announced in his video message published on Telegram.

"I just signed a decree that gives effect to the NSDC's decision on sanctions. We block propagandists who work for Russia, people who have defected to the enemy, and those who help Russia continue the war. We also continue to deprive state awards. Only those who truly dedicate their lives to Ukraine deserve the title of Hero of Ukraine," the head of state said.

Zelenskyi added that new sanctions decisions are being prepared now.

"They will be here soon," the president promised.

According to the addendum to Zelensky's decree, 18 people are on the sanctions list. Among them: people's deputies Nestor Shufrych, Yuriy Boyko, the leader of the banned party "Nashi" Yevhen Muraev, also the head of the banned Communist Party Petro Symonenko, ex-Nardeput Oleg Voloshyn, ex-Narddep Leonid Baisarov. In particular, Boyko was stripped of the title of Hero of Ukraine, which he received in 2004 "for outstanding personal services to the Ukrainian state in the development of the fuel and energy complex, many years of dedicated work."

Vladyslav Vlasyuk, the president's authorized officer for sanctions policy, detailed the document on Facebook.

"As a result of the application of sanctions, Yuri Boyk, Nestor Shufrych, Leonid Baisarov, Leonid Lytvynov, Oleksandr Odnoralenko, Yevgeny Horokhov, Yuri Bashmet, Vasyl Gerello, Serhiy Karyakin, Vadym Pisarev, Ilya Reznik, Ruzhena Rublev, Viktor Sadovnychy have been deprived of their state awards," informs he.

It is noted that Ruzhena Rublyova is a People's Artist of Ukraine, who switched to the side of the Russian Federation and performed accompanied by the "Choir of the National Guard of the Russian Federation" during a concert dedicated to Russia's occupation of the territories of Ukraine;

Vadim Pisarev, a ballet dancer who continued his creative activity on the territory of the self-proclaimed DNR, cooperating with the occupation authorities;

Serhii Karyakin, a chess player who defected to Russia, became a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and spreads propaganda narratives;

Leonid Litvinov and Leonid Baisarov are former members of the Party of Regions, which support the Russian Federation;

Yevhen Horokhov is the rector of the Donbass National Academy, who assumed the position of Minister of Education and Science of the DPR and cooperated with the occupiers.

Svitlana Kryukova and Kostyantyn Hrygoryshyn are also on the sanctions list.
