If the delivery of American aid is delayed, Ukraine will suffer losses, said President Zelensky, commenting on the unblocking of appropriations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Congress.
When asked by NBC News whether this aid would help Ukraine win the war or simply drag it out, Zelenskyy replied: “It depends on when we actually get the weapons on the ground. As you said, Kristen, if we get it in six months – well, our process will stall for six months, and we will suffer losses in several areas. Losses in people, in equipment.”.
According to Zelensky, “now we have a chance to stabilize the situation and seize the initiative, so we really need to have weapons systems.”.
He added that Ukraine now needs long-range weapons because “our weapons are not that long-range.” “We need [that] and air defense. These are our priorities now,” Zelensky said.
