Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had a "most open" dialogue with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected president of Argentina. He said this in an evening video address.
"On the sidelines of the inauguration, I spoke with Hungarian Prime Minister Orban as frankly as possible. And it is clear that it was about our European affairs," Zelensky said.
As part of the inauguration event, Zelensky also discussed the situation with French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
"We discussed joint work at the European Union level and measures for the joint defense of Europe. I express my gratitude for the support," the president emphasized.
Zelensky also held a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Argentina, especially that part whose roots in these lands go back decades.
"I express my gratitude for the preservation of our Ukrainian culture, identity, and language. I am grateful for the connection that continues to exist between Ukraine and this land, despite geographical circumstances and difficulties," the politician noted.
The president's further plans include a visit to Washington with his team for scheduled meetings and negotiations, including with President Biden and members of Congress.
