The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that he had a "maximum open" dialogue with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, during the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected president of Argentina. He told about this in an evening video message.
"On the sidelines of the inauguration, I spoke with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Orbán, as frankly as possible. And it is clear that it is about our European affairs," Zelenskyy said.
As part of the inaugural event, Zelenskyi also discussed the situation with French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
"We discussed joint work at the level of the European Union and measures for the joint protection of Europe. I express my gratitude for the support," the president emphasized.
Zelenskyi also held a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Argentina, especially that part whose roots in these lands go back decades.
"I express my gratitude for the preservation of our Ukrainian culture, identity and language. I am grateful for the connection that continues to exist between Ukraine and this land, despite geographical circumstances and difficulties," the politician said.
The president's future plans include a visit to Washington with his team for scheduled meetings and negotiations, including with President Biden and members of Congress.
