Problematic aspects of mobilization in Ukraine: “packaging” incidents and corruption scandals

In Ukraine, scandals surrounding the CCC employees and their “methods” of conducting mobilization do not subside. Men continue to be simply “packed” on the street, and against this background, stories of incredible enrichment of military commissars during the war emerge. The Armed Forces of Ukraine criticize the CCC critics, claiming that they are treated as enemies. At the same time, experts propose changes to mobilization.

Scandals with the CCC and mobilization

Ukrainians in different parts of the country continue to record on video how CCK employees forcefully "pack" men into small groups right in the middle of the streets. In particular, one of these detainees attempted suicide. In clashes between military commissars and conscripts, fights and even knives and axes are used.

For example, recently in Odessa, representatives of the CCC tried to remove a man from a minibus because he showed a disability certificate, and the military commissar wanted to see his military ID. Moreover, the CCC employee stated that the documents provided were fake.

At the same time, in Lviv, military commissars organized a whole chase for the man. Users on the Internet reported that the fugitive was caught, and added a video as evidence. Later, explanations from this same guy appeared on social networks. After he got to the CCC, his data was checked and released. The man reported that he had no complaints about the staff of the recruitment center.

A similar situation occurred in Chernivtsi. There, a man was forcibly pushed onto a bus. Four people in uniform at once - for one conscript.

If the CCC representatives can't catch up with their "two", they simply press them with a car. The shocking footage was filmed in the town of Buchach in the Ternopil region, the Internet claims.

A video from the Sumy region has appeared on the Internet, in which CCC employees get into a fight with a local civilian. The incident occurred in the city of Shostka. The footage shows three men. One of them suddenly pushes the civilian and he falls. After that, the man got up, took out his phone to record the license plate number of the car, but was kicked in the chest. After that, two people in military uniform attacked the civilian and started kicking him.

In Transcarpathia, a 28-year-old Kharkiv man nearly committed suicide after confronting CCK officials. He accused Khust military enlistment office employees of kidnapping, beating, and inciting him to commit suicide.

The man was detained by border guards at the Vynogradov Hotel, not far from the Hungarian border. He was suspected of attempting to illegally leave the country and handed over to the military enlistment office. After refusing to undergo military enlistment, the man was taken to the Khustskyi CCC. There, the Kharkiv resident claims, the employees severely beat him, so he swallowed tranquilizers and began cutting his veins in order to commit suicide in this way. The man is currently in the hospital. The military prosecutor's office and the police have taken up the high-profile case.

One of the latest high-profile scandals involving the CCC is the kidnapping of volunteer Kyryl Taran in Lviv. His wife Violetta posted a video on the Internet on March 16, showing people in uniform forcibly detaining the volunteer in the middle of the street and pushing him into a van. The woman claimed that during the incident, CCC employees tore Kyryl’s jacket and pants, and also broke his glasses and phone. According to her wife, her husband was not served any summonses at the scene of his arrest. The morning after his arrest, Kyryl was taken to a training ground in Rivne without going through the VLK (because he refused).

After the story became public, the man was released, but the story did not end there. The Lviv Regional CCC reported that a criminal case had been opened against Taran because he failed to appear on March 20 for a military service. The military enlistment office clarified that the man did not provide any valid reasons for his failure to appear.

The volunteer responded to the CCC's statement and assured that it was all a fake. Kyrylo wrote online that on March 19, his lawyer sent a letter to the military enlistment office asking them to consider his absence valid. The letter included a doctor's medical report on the volunteer's illness to confirm the validity of the reason for his absence.
