Producer and performer Oleksiy Potapenko (Potap), who currently lives and works abroad, commented on the discussion surrounding the language choice in performances and performances by artists. According to him, he and his wife Nastya Kamensky have no problems with Ukrainian — it is their native language, but they sing in different languages, including Ukrainian, English, Spanish, and Russian.
Potap also called the topic of languages "manipulative" and called for mutual understanding in Ukrainian society, emphasizing that representatives of different language groups live in the country. According to the producer, it is more important now for artists to give people hope and support the country with culture.
Potap's comments came amid the backlash surrounding Nastya Kamensky's performance in the US, where she performed songs in Russian. After that incident, the singer allegedly lost a million-dollar contract with the Golden Age company, according to media reports.
