Products for the Army turned into business: detained 9 defendants in the case

The staff of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Office of the Prosecutor General, detained nine people who organized a large -scale corruption scheme on the supply of food to military units and educational institutions of the Armed Forces. At the fraud center is the owner of two commercial companies that created a criminal organization for the purpose of enrichment at the expense of the army.

According to the investigation, the group consisted of eight accomplices: directors of firms, their subordinates, as well as the heads of food services of several military units and the educational institution of the Ministry of Defense. The essence of the scheme was simple - the documents showed large volumes of products that were not actually supplied. Fictitious invoices and acceptance acts recorded deliveries that were not available.

In this way, the defendants of the case systematically "laundered" the budget funds. The amount of losses caused to the state has already reached UAH 6 million.

Contracts for the supply of products with the Ministry of Defense were official, which allowed them to be covered with formalities. The usual check of papers did not show violations - everything looked legal on the paper. However, actual deliveries either did not occur or were at times smaller than stated.

The DBR is currently searched and removes documents that can confirm the systematic and scale of the scam. All detainees are preparing suspicions. Criminal proceedings were opened under Articles 255 of the Criminal Code (creation of a criminal organization) and 191 of the Criminal Code (seizure of property through abuse of office).

According to the bureau, it is only one of the many schemes that arise on the basis of military tenders. The food provision of the army is a lacquer piece for corrupt officials, because the volume of supply is large, the control is weak, and the grounds for inspections are scarce. At the same time, such cases are beaten not only by the budget, but also by trust in army logistics during the war.
