The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center predicts that the beginning of 2025 will also bring warm weather. On the first two days of the new year, January 1 and 2, the thermometers will show +7°C during the day, and the temperature will remain above zero at night. However, from Friday, January 3, frost will come to Kyiv region. At night, the temperature will drop to -4°C, and during the day it will be around 0°C.
According to forecasters, on the first weekend of the new year, Ukrainians will feel the breath of real winter. On January 4-5, a cold air mass will cover most regions of the country, bringing frost and the first snowfalls. On Sunday, January 5, wet and moderate snow is expected, especially in the north and in the center of the country.
Weather for the coming week
In the current week, the synoptic situation will be dynamic.
- December 30-31 : warm, without significant precipitation.
- January 1-2 : the daytime temperature will fluctuate between +6...+12°C in different regions of Ukraine.
- January 3 and beyond : gradual cooling, night frosts up to -4°C, probable snow.
Forecasters also note that windy weather is expected in the first days of the new year, so residents of Kyiv should be careful, especially in open spaces.
