According to the forecasts of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, during the winter holidays, Ukrainians may not worry about sudden changes in weather conditions or severe frosts. As forecaster Nataliya Ptukha reported, the climate situation in Ukraine will remain relatively stable in the near future.
"In principle, the process is very similar, as it is now: we have an atmospheric front with a mixed phase of precipitation, then again a certain cessation of precipitation and slightly cooler nights due to clearing," she said.
As for the temperature, according to the forecaster, it will be close to zero degrees, maybe a little plus.
"We see that this week the trend is positive temperatures, and next week it will be somewhere around 0 degrees," the weather expert added.
When asked what the weather might be like on New Year's Eve, the weather forecaster said that it is still too early to tell.
"In general, if we look at the beginning of next week, we may have atmospheric processes from the northwest. In principle, they will be kept until the end of the month," said Ptukha.
According to her, alternations are expected: an atmospheric front will pass, then there may be a field of high pressure and no precipitation again.
But whether there will be snow on the holidays depends on the temperature. "If the temperature is slightly below 0, even if it drops by 2 degrees, there will already be snow and snow cover. And if it's higher, everything will fall and immediately melt," the forecaster explained.
Frosts in Ukraine - forecast
On December 19-20, Ukraine will warm up a bit, but already on the 20-21st, the air temperature will start to drop again. However, according to forecaster Natalka Didenko, there will be no severe frosts in Ukraine until Christmas.
