Ukraine welcomes a favorable weekend with mixed weather - warm weather for December remains in some areas, but a drop in temperature, wet snow and night frosts are expected in some regions. Forecaster Ihor Kibalchich shared a detailed forecast, according to which the weather will be different depending on the region.
Weather on December 21
On Saturday, cloudy weather with clearings is expected in the western regions, without significant precipitation. There is ice on the roads in some places. Wind speed will be 5-10 m/s. Thermometers will show 0...+5 °C, and in the Carpathians during the day -3...-8 °C.
In the north of Ukraine on Saturday, there will be no significant precipitation, only in the south of Sumy region will the rainy weather persist. Fog is possible in some places. The air temperature during the day will vary between 0...+5 °С.
In the central regions, according to Kibalchich, gloomy weather is expected, sometimes light, sometimes moderate rain. Fog is possible. During the day, the thermometers here will show within the range of +1...+6 °С.
In the south of the country, except for Crimea, moderate rain is expected in the afternoon. The air here will warm up to +5...+10 °C, and on the peninsula it will be +10...+15 °C.
During the day, it will rain in the east of Ukraine, with the exception of the Luhansk region, and the thermometers will show +1...+6 °С during the day.
Weather on December 22
In the west of Ukraine, it will be dry at night, and during the day there will be light wet snow with rain in some places. There is ice on the roads in some places. The air temperature at night will drop to -2...-7 °C, during the day it will be -1...+4 °C.
In the northern part of the country, there is mostly no precipitation, only in the south of Sumy Oblast, sleet with rain is expected. The temperature at night is 0...-5 °С, during the day it is slightly higher, -3...+2 °С.
In the central regions, moderate rain is expected during the day, in some places with wet snow. Wet snow is possible in some places. It will be -1...+4 °C at night, 0...+5 °C during the day.
In the south of Ukraine, there will be rain at night on Sunday, in places with wet snow, in the afternoon light, in some places moderate rain is expected. Wind speed is 7-12 m/s, gusts will reach 15-20 m/s in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. The temperature at night is 0...+5 °С, during the day +1...+6 °С, and in the Crimea - up to +9 °С.
Rainy weather is expected throughout the day in the east of Ukraine on December 22. Fog is possible in some places. Air temperature at night -1...+4 °C, during the day 0...+5 °C.
Frosts in Ukraine
Forecaster Natalka Didenko predicts that on December 21-22, the temperature in Ukraine will begin to decrease somewhat, but there will be no severe frosts. At least until Christmas.
"No special frosts are expected in Ukraine until Christmas," she said.
