The Ukrainian government has decided to allocate UAH 2.6 billion for the renovation of 15 important medical facilities, including the reconstruction of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, which was hit by a Russian strike last July. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during a government meeting that this amount will be used to build and renovate hospitals, including the underground Kovcheg hospital, oncology and rehabilitation centers.
The government is paying special attention to the restoration of “Okhmatdyt”, which requires significant costs for repair work and reconstruction after the impact. Shmyhal also noted that in 2025 the largest expansion of the “Affordable Medicines” program will take place, for which a record UAH 6.6 billion will be allocated. Within the framework of this program, 30 new medicinal substances will be added, which will reduce the cost of treatment for 500 thousand Ukrainians.
An important part of the government's plans is also funding school infrastructure, including shelters, school cafeterias, and buses. The Prime Minister promised that military or military-patriotic lyceums will be established in each region.
