The Government of Ukraine has decided to allocate UAH 2.6 billion for the renovation of 15 important medical institutions, including the restoration of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, which was damaged by the Russian strike in July last year. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during the government meeting that this amount will be used for the construction and renovation of hospitals, including the underground hospital "Kovcheg", oncology and rehabilitation centers.
The government pays special attention to the restoration of "Okhmatdyt", which requires substantial costs for repair work and reconstruction after the impact. Shmyhal also noted that in 2025, the largest expansion of the "Affordable Medicines" program will take place, for which a record 6.6 billion UAH will be allocated. As part of this program, 30 new medicinal substances will be added, which will reduce the cost of treatment for 500,000 Ukrainians.
Funding for school infrastructure, including shelters, school canteens and buses, is also an important part of the government's plans. The Prime Minister promised that military or military-patriotic lyceums will be established in each region.
