Lyudmila Kovalska, a prosecutor of the Zhashkiv department of the Uman district prosecutor's office of the Cherkasy region, purchased housing in Kyiv worth over 1.2 million hryvnias in December 2025. She previously received over 1 million hryvnias using a fake disability certificate.
Her husband Vadym Kovalskyi, deputy head of the Uman district department of the State Emergency Service in Cherkasy region, has owned an apartment in the capital worth over UAH 800,000 since 2018. In addition, the family owns real estate in the city of Smila and the village of Lytvynivka in Cherkasy region.
According to the declaration for 2024, the prosecutor's husband purchased a 2017 Renault Megane car for UAH 5,000 in 2022, although its market value exceeds UAH 500,000. Such data raises questions about the origin of the funds and the legality of the transactions in the prosecutor's family.
Observers note that such cases call into question the transparency and ethics of law enforcement activities in the region.
