The State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion to Volodymyr Vinnikov, the prosecutor of the Holosiivsk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, who, according to the investigation, embezzled several million funds seized during the investigation.

As the investigation established, in August 2023, the prosecutor supervised a criminal proceeding against a private enterprise. During the searches in this case, 4 million 242 thousand (in hryvnia equivalent) in different currencies were seized from the merchant.
Instead of handing over the confiscated funds for proper storage, the prosecutor took them for himself.
After that, he stopped showing up at work. At the same time, as of June 13, as informed by the Head of Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department, the prosecutor was detained, and he was charged with abuse of official position by taking possession of someone else's property in particularly large amounts.
The court will soon choose a preventive measure for Vinnikova. The investigators will request an arrest with the right to deposit a bail of 4.2 million hryvnias.
