A supporter of Putin will appear in court in Kharkiv

A 60-year-old woman who is a supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the so-called "special military operation" (SVO) will stand trial in Kharkiv. She actively spread her pro-Russian views in comments to posts in Telegram channels promoting Kremlin policy.

According to the report of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the accused claimed that Kharkiv is a Russian city, and Ukrainians are supposed to pray for the president of the Russian Federation. In addition, she denied the fact of armed aggression on the part of Russia, asserting that Russian troops attack only "military objects". Her statements contained disparaging statements about Ukrainian patriots.

A case was brought against the woman under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which relate to changing the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine, as well as the distribution of materials that deny Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. The illegal content of her statements was confirmed by the results of a forensic linguistic examination.

Now the woman is in custody, and she faces up to five years in prison for her pro-Russian activities.
