PrivatBank blocks Natskeshbek cards: how can customers unblock funds?

PrivatBank clients began to complain en masse about the blocking of virtual Natskeshbek cards opened for receiving financial assistance under the state program "Winter eSupport". The bank explained that the restrictions were related to enforcement proceedings and told how clients can regain access to funds.

This is reported on the Ministry of Finance portal.

The state-owned PrivatBank has begun blocking virtual cards issued by Natskeshbek for participation in the Winter eSupport program due to enforcement proceedings. One of the client complaints concerns a situation where the bank blocked not only the virtual card, but also the client's other accounts.

The client said that he opened a Natskeshbek card to receive 1,000 hryvnias in financial assistance, but the bank blocked it, citing an arrest due to debt, which the man considers unfounded. He also accused the bank of dishonesty.

Official position of PrivatBank

PrivatBank responded to the complaints by stating that it was acting within the law and complying with the requirements to seize funds based on letters from the enforcement service.

“This means that you have a debt to the enforcement service. Contact the enforcement agent to resolve this issue,” the bank explained.

The institution noted that restrictions can be lifted only after receiving a corresponding notification of the lifting of the arrest. According to the procedure, the bank must unblock the account within 3–10 days after receiving the documents.

How to unblock funds

To remove the arrest, clients need to:

  1. Contact the enforcement service or private enforcement agent who initiated the proceedings.
  2. In case of debt settlement, receive an official document on the lifting of the arrest.
  3. Provide this document to the bank to unblock the accounts.

PrivatBank recalls that it is guided by the NBU Resolution No. 22 of January 21, 2004, which regulates the procedure for fulfilling the requirements of enforcement services.
