PrivatBank warned about blocking accounts without updating personal data

The state-owned PrivatBank has warned customers about the need to periodically update their personal data, without which access to the Privat24 mobile application and bank accounts may be automatically restricted. The requirement applies to all customers and follows from the current legislation of Ukraine.

As the bank notes, the data update procedure is mandatory in accordance with the law "On Prevention and Counteraction to the Legalization of Proceeds from Crime, the Financing of Terrorism and the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction." It is this document that obliges all financial institutions to regularly check and update information about their clients.

The frequency of updating is determined for each client individually, taking into account the risks and requirements of Resolution No. 65 of the National Bank of Ukraine. At the same time, the bank emphasizes that data should be updated no less than once every five years and no more than once a year.

All clients who received the corresponding notification in the mobile application or web version of "Privat24" are required to go through the procedure even if their personal data has not changed. If the requirement is ignored, the bank temporarily restricts the ability to perform any transactions on cards and accounts.

PrivatBank explained that even if there are no changes in the documents, the financial institution must receive their current confirmation. Until the verification is completed, the client will not be able to use his funds.

To avoid blocking, customers are offered to update remotely via "Privat24". To do this, you need to select the option to update information, confirm the absence of ties with aggressor countries, enter the card PIN code, fill out a questionnaire, add a document via "Diya" or upload its photo, indicate the address of residence and social status. After that, the documents are sent for verification, which must be confirmed by an electronic signature.

The bank emphasizes that timely completion of this procedure allows you to avoid any restrictions on the use of accounts and banking services.
