A new head of the State Financial Monitoring Service was appointed after Cherkasky was dismissed

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Philip Pronin as the new head of the State Financial Monitoring Service, replacing Ihor Cherkasky in this position. This happened after the government dismissed Cherkassky and appointed Pronin, who had previously headed the Poltava Regional Military Administration (OVA).

The government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, confirmed the information about the change of position in the government in his Telegram channel. He noted that the decision on the appointment was made after President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree on December 30 to dismiss Philip Pronin from the post of head of Poltava OVA.

Before becoming the head of the Poltava OVA in October 2023, Pronin worked in the structure of the National Agency of Ukraine for the Identification, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA). He also had work experience in the State Financial Monitoring Service, where from 2010 to 2017 he held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Risk Analysis and Typological Research of the Department of Financial Investigations.

Ihor Cherkasky, who headed the State Financial Monitoring Service since 2014, is leaving his post after ten years of work in the organization, to which he was appointed during the prime ministership of Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
