Today NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the appointment of Patrick Turner as a senior representative to head the NATO Representation in Ukraine. This news came from the press service of the Alliance.
Patrick Turner will take up this important position in September 2024. As a senior representative, he will be responsible for coordinating NATO's interaction with the Ukrainian authorities in Kyiv, as well as coordinating the Alliance's efforts. Turner will also provide assessments and recommendations on the situation in Ukraine.
Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence that Turner will successfully cope with the duties assigned to him, as NATO continues to increase its support for Ukraine.
"It is a real honor for me to be appointed senior NATO representative in Ukraine. I look forward to leading the NATO Delegation and working very closely with the Ukrainian authorities, as well as with NATO allies and partners, to help provide NATO support to Ukraine," said Turner.
The appointment of Patrick Turner indicates the continuation of NATO's active support to Ukraine and the strengthening of cooperation between the Alliance and the Ukrainian authorities in the face of modern challenges.
