In Khmelnytskyi region, the acting rector of the Ivan Ohienko Kamianets-Podilskyi National University has been charged with abuse of office and official forgery. The case is related to the purchase of charging stations for state budget funds in the amount of over UAH 1.26 million. This is stated in the ruling of the Khmelnytskyi City District Court .
According to the pre-trial investigation, in December 2025, the educational institution received state funding for the purchase of generators, inverters, and charging stations to ensure the educational process. Since the open bidding did not take place due to the absence of participants, it was decided to conclude a direct contract with an individual entrepreneur.
The investigation believes that the acting rector concluded a contract for the supply of 12 charging stations with a total value of UAH 1,261,992, although the supplier did not actually have this equipment. According to law enforcement, the official signed expenditure documents and other official papers with inaccurate information about the supply of goods.
The case materials indicate that on the basis of these documents, funds were transferred from accounts through the State Treasury Service of Ukraine . Investigators believe that such actions caused losses to the state budget in the amount of more than 1.26 million UAH.
On February 11, 2026, Natalia Bakhmat was reported under suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of official position, which caused grave consequences) and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official forgery). Law enforcement officers also filed a petition with the court to remove her from office, arguing that she risked influencing witnesses and possible obstruction of the investigation.
However, the court refused to grant the motion, stating that there were insufficient grounds for such a decision. The suspect's defense disagrees with the charges. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
