Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and his inner circle continue to use the rhetoric of threats against Ukraine. In particular, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Peskov, spoke about a possible response to the actions of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region. These words were uttered after the Ukrainian side conducted a successful operation on the territory of the Russian Federation.
On Monday, August 26, Peskov said that Russia will not leave Ukrainian actions unanswered, stressing that this reaction will be mandatory. He noted that it is not about a separate decision, but about a response to so-called "hostile actions". His words reflect the further escalation of Moscow's rhetoric in response to Ukrainian counteroffensive actions.
Earlier, the Russian ambassador to the USA, Anatoly Antonov, expressed similar threats. He claimed that Putin had already made a decision regarding the response to the attack of Ukrainian troops in Kurshchyna. This shows that the Russian leadership seeks to show its readiness to respond to Ukraine's actions, using threats and intimidation as a tool of political pressure.
These statements once again demonstrate the aggressive nature of Russian policy aimed at destabilizing the situation both in Ukraine and in the region in general. Despite this, Ukraine continues to defend its territory and sovereignty, conducting operations in the relevant areas of the front.
It is worth noting that such statements from the Russian leadership are often part of a propaganda campaign aimed at domestic audiences, as well as at creating pressure at the international level. Therefore, it is important to analyze these threats in the context of the general strategy of Russia, which has been using force methods for a long time to achieve its goals in relations with Ukraine and other countries.
