Putin talked about peace with Ukraine

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said that the restoration of relations between Russia and Ukraine is “inevitable” and that peace will definitely come in the future. He made the statement in an interview with Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin.

"Reconciliation with Ukraine is inevitable, it's a matter of time. It seems to me that it is inevitable, despite all the tragedy that we are experiencing now," Putin said.

These words were uttered against the backdrop of his announcement of a three-day “truce” until May 9 — another attempt by the Kremlin to create the illusion of peace. However, the Ukrainian side rejected this initiative. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly stated that a real ceasefire could not be organized in a few days and proposed an alternative — a full-fledged 30-day ceasefire.

Instead, the experience of previous "truces", in particular the so-called "Easter", has demonstrated the Kremlin's cynicism - according to official data, then Russia violated the agreements more than 3,000 times, continuing missile and artillery shelling.

Analysts see Putin's current statements as an information and propaganda maneuver that has nothing to do with a real desire for peace. While Russia is attacking Ukrainian cities every day, the Russian president's words sound not like a peace initiative, but like an attempt to impose defeat on Ukraine in the form of "peace.".
