In 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 4201, which provided for the cancellation of the change of clocks and the establishment of a single time zone throughout the country throughout the year. However, despite the fact that the law was supported by the parliament, the president of Ukraine never signed this draft law. This means that the question of changing the clocks remains open, and the transition to summer time in 2025 is likely.
The draft law canceling summer time has already been approved by the Verkhovna Rada. However, there is a nuance - in order for it to enter into force, the president must put his signature on the document. His team assumes that Volodymyr Zelenskyi will not sign the document. However, the time to veto the law has also passed.
The traditional day when clocks are changed to summer time is the last Sunday in March. If nothing changes and Volodymyr Zelenskyi does not sign the law by this date, then on March 30 at 3:00 a.m. we will move the hands forward 1 hour . This means that we will sleep an hour less.
On smartphones and other electronic devices, the transition will take place automatically. And mechanical clocks and old push-button telephones will have to be translated manually. In tickets and schedules, the time will be indicated taking into account the transfer of the arrows.
