Ukrainian blogger and journalist Ramina Eshakzai investigated the escape of controversial blogger Oleksandr Voloshyn from Ukraine in July of this year. According to her, Voloshyn planned his departure in advance, violating the country's laws.
Ramina published details of the investigation on her YouTube channel , where she gathered evidence that Voloshyn illegally crossed the border during the war, using the “Shlyakh” , which allows drivers of international transport to cross the border. Voloshyn left the country on July 31, 2024, posing as a minibus driver.
Details of Voloshyn's escape
According to the journalist, Voloshyn began preparing for his escape several months before:
- On April 3, 2024, he stopped declaring his income.
- In early June , I took my first car abroad and returned to Ukraine.
- On July 2, he sold his apartment.
- On July 31, he left under the guise of a minibus driver, and on August 1, his mother took away a second car.
Ramina also noted that Voloshyn sold his real estate in Ukraine and stopped declaring his income to hide his financial traces.
Voloshyn's and Manipulation's Plans
Eshakzai drew attention to an interview she conducted with Voloshyn in May. Even then, he had hinted at his plans to leave the country, although at the time he claimed he was doing so to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine . However, the journalist is convinced that this was just a cover for his escape.
“He left through corruption, did not pay taxes, did not fully declare his income. He went abroad through an incomprehensible company. A very well-planned escape plan,” Ramina noted.
