Analysts point to the importance of Western military support for the Ukrainian Defense Forces at the front.
Lowering the mobilization age from 27 to 25 will help the Ukrainian army rebuild and modernize existing units, as well as form new ones. However, support from Western allies is needed to fully provide for all mobilized people, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Experts note that lowering the mobilization age is just one of the measures that Ukraine is considering as part of creating a sustainable mechanism for mobilizing military forces in wartime.
However, Ukraine will need to arm all mobilized troops. Delays in providing military aid and Western support could slow the process of rebuilding and forming new military units in Ukraine.
According to ISW, financial support from the West is a key factor in strengthening the combat capability of the Ukrainian army.
Recall that on April 2, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on mobilization from the age of 25, as well as draft law No. 10062 on the electronic account of a conscript.
