The Ukrainian rapper Potap, who went abroad and now appears under the pseudonym Slavic Balagan, made an unexpected statement. In his Instagram, he announced that he would like to present Moldova at Eurovision-2025, although this country will not participate in the competition this year.
The performer posted a video-dialogue with an unknown woman, during which he told about his idea. Potap emphasized that he was even ready to finance his participation on his own and was convinced that the Moldovan audience would support him.
"I want to tell you honestly, given that my main composition is the guys from Moldova, if it was such an opportunity, I would gladly introduce Moldova on Eurovision," the artist said. "
Moreover, he assured that he already had a corresponding song with Moldovan motives that would be perfect for the international scene.
Despite the desire of the rapper, Moldova officially refused to participate in Eurovision-2025. The main reasons were economic difficulties and low interest in the competition in the country.
“We could come from Moldova on Eurovision if, of course, the people supported us. And I think he would support, ”Potap added.”
The rapper is increasingly moving away from Ukraine
Potap left Ukraine at the beginning of a full -scale invasion and since then only a few times he came to his homeland. In recent years, he has been building a career abroad, working on a new stage image of Slavic Balagan.
Interestingly, he less often remembers the war, and his speeches are mostly Russian -speaking. This causes a lot of indignation among Ukrainian listeners who believe that the artist has finally chosen the distance from Ukraine.
