The head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, believes that the Russian Federation is destroying the most inefficient and expensive generation. He said, thank them for that. Because the affected power plants were built using old technologies and put into operation between 1959 and 1977. And besides, to support their work, anthracite coal is needed, the reserves of which in the warehouses of Ukrenergo TPPs are critical.
At the same time, Kudrytsky is not at all embarrassed by the fact that in many regions of the country the population is without electricity, water, and heat. In his opinion, “Russian misfortune can turn into Ukrainian happiness.”.
In other words, we now need to attract as much private investment as possible to build a new generation.
According to various estimates, the transition from outdated technologies to innovative renewable energy should involve between $12 billion and $17 billion.
Agree that this is a lot of money even for peacetime. And even more so for wartime.
Therefore, dreams of large investments in energy remain only Kudrytsky's dreams.
