Year in the Armed Forces - and permission to leave: How will a new military service program work

In Ukraine, a new military service is being introduced, designed for young citizens from 18 to 24 years old. It provides an opportunity to sign an annual contract, after which the servicemen will receive a defer from mobilization for one year and permission to travel abroad .

The military of the 92nd Separate assault brigade named after Ivan Sirko Mstislav Banik spoke about it. In particular, his brigade is already involved in the pilot project.

According to Mstislav Banik, the military of the Armed Forces, six brigades have now been involved in the program, but in the future it will be extended to all the defense forces of Ukraine. According to him, it is a pilot project that will be implemented in those parts that can provide a proper recruiting process and quality combat training.

The main condition of the program is the service in the Armed Forces within one year.

“You sign a contract for a year and after 12 months you can leave the army if you do not want to continue your service. At the same time, you get an annual delay from mobilization and the opportunity to go abroad. These are the main conditions, ”Banik explained.

The program is aimed at attracting young, physically active and motivated people in the assault units.

“The infantry needs young, energetic fighters. But in addition to assault positions, there are other vacancies: drivers, doctors and more. The contract can be signed for a year or before the announcement of demobilization. The payment of lifting is provided, ”the military said.

After signing the contract, servicemen will be trained. It will take place directly on the basis of the brigade and will last 45 days. Additionally, 14 days of professional training and two weeks of adaptation in the unit are provided.

“We need to master weapons that you will have to work with. And after passing the educational stage, the recruits will be included in combat work, ”the Banik explained.

At the same time, he stressed that the soldiers would not be sent to battle without proper training.

“No one will quit a person to storm positions on the third day. Initially, careful selection, testing of physical and psychological status, and then - full training, ”the serviceman emphasized.

One of the important incentives for young people is decent financial support.

“After signing the contract, the serviceman immediately receives UAH 200,000 for the start. In general, it will receive a million hryvnias in a year. Given the current economic situation, it is difficult to find a job that will bring such money. In addition to a million, UAH 100,000 plus a monthly salary is paid, ”Banik explained.

According to the military, for many young people, this program can not only provide themselves financially, but also acquire useful skills and change their lives.

We will remind, in Ukraine in the framework of the experimental project, some servicemen are guaranteed to receive UAH 1 million.
