Oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, one of Ukraine’s richest men, has put up for sale three of his private jets, most notably an Airbus A319 with the tail number P4-RLA, which reflects Akhmetov’s initials. The move signaled possible changes in the businessman’s business strategy and personal financial decisions.
“May 1, 2024. Vienna, Austria. Schwechat Airport VIP Terminal. In the most prominent parking space, it is difficult not to notice the private Airbus A319. The abbreviation RLA on the flight number (P4-RLA – note) stands for “Rinat Leonidovich Akhmetov.”.
This 2011 aircraft is registered on the island of Aruba. The aircraft has been virtually unused since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. This aircraft is now up for sale.
The editorial team managed to obtain a relevant booklet of Akhmetov's plane, thanks to which you can see the interior of the plane with a conference room, a recreation area, and a bedroom for the first time.
On the eve of the full-scale invasion in late January 2022, it was recorded how this private Airbus of Akhmetov was used twice by presenter and journalist Dmytro Gordon for flights from Kyiv to Geneva and back.
Akhmetov returned to Ukraine the day before the full-scale invasion. Thanks to aviation sources, it was learned that Akhmetov's second Falcon 7 was also put up for sale.
The corresponding booklet of the aircraft for sale, registered in the British Virgin Islands, is also at the disposal of the editorial staff.
Rinat Akhmetov’s press service confirmed upon request: “Yes, it’s true. All the planes are up for sale.” And this means that Akhmetov’s third plane – another Falcon 7 with the tail number P4-SCM – is also up for sale. This plane, like the Airbus, is registered in Aruba,” the story in “Ukrainian Pravda” says.
According to journalist Mikhail Tkach, the cost of Falcon aircraft was about $100 million, while Airbus at one time could cost about $80 million.
