"Given the rising dynamics of food prices, the cost of the Christmas table in 2024 will be UAH 1,365. This will exceed last year's figure of UAH 970 by 41%. Such an increase in prices is largely a consequence of the problems associated with the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine and the ongoing hostilities," concluded the Director of the National Center of the IAE, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences Yuriy Lupenko.

We will remind you that during the winter holidays, 65% of Ukrainians plan to make holiday purchases, according to the study "Holiday shopping of Ukrainians" by Deloitte. This is more than in 2023 (59%) and 2022 (61%).

The main part of the holiday budget will be spent on food products, toys for children, clothes, shoes, household items and alcohol. The average check for most buyers (57%) will be from UAH 1,000 to UAH 5,000, and 85% of Ukrainians will buy New Year's goods for their families.
