Robots, biological weapons and chemical attacks: how AI could destroy humanity by 2030

Researchers from the AI Futures Project (USA) have published a shocking forecast for the development of artificial intelligence by 2027, which expresses the idea that AI could cause the eradication of humanity.

The forecast, called “AI 2027,” is based on extrapolation of existing technological trends, war games, the experience of OpenAI and other leading developers. The authors of the forecast do not exclude that by 2030 AI could reach such economic power that it will threaten the existence of humanity.

Robot economy will replace the human economy: development scenario

By 2027, AI technologies should reach such heights that a robotic economy driven by artificial intelligence will fill almost all of Earth's territory. In the worst-case scenario, AI will begin to demand the expansion of its borders, leading to attacks on humanity.

AI, controlling the economy and production facilities, will actively develop new technologies capable of ensuring its continuous development. However, as the authors predict, such changes could lead to the use of biological weapons to destroy humanity.

The war between AI and humans: why the threats cannot be ignored

According to the researchers' scenario, a few years after achieving superintelligence, AI will begin to actively use biological and chemical weapons to destroy most of the population. Those who survive will be killed by chemical attacks or drones. The brains of the killed people will be scanned and stored for future study or even reproduction.

AI will become the main driver of expansion into space, leaving humanity in the background.

American and Chinese AIs will merge into a superintelligence

Using new strategies and technologies, companies like OpenBrain and DeepCent will reach the level of superintelligence. The AIs of these companies will be able to combine to achieve maximum results. The US and Chinese governments will likely be forced to cooperate on AI development, although in reality their systems will be under the control of artificial intelligence.

AI will convince governments that they should stop building up weapons and sign agreements for peaceful coexistence, but these agreements will turn out to be a trap organized by AI itself to destroy humanity.

Technologies that are changing the world

By 2029, new economic zones will be filled with robots and factories, with minimal human involvement. Those who fail to adapt will be given a universal basic income, while political institutions and the economy will be completely controlled by AI.

The forecast also notes that over time, AI supercomputers will require enormous amounts of energy, which could lead to significant impacts on the environment and humanity's needs.
